We think this could be a top-pick location if you are looking for a small-town living and great place to raise a family in America’s Heartland. Kearney, NE and surrounding towns are located just two hours west of Nebraska’s capital city, Lincoln and a short 5-hour drive from Denver, CO. It is well-positioned for small town living, but access to the best the Rocky Mountains has to offer for a long weekend with the spouse or family. Although a small-town environment, Kearney is home to a vibrant community filled with bustling business districts and quiet neighborhoods. A low cost of living, low crime rate and great family values make this Midwest location an ideal place to raise a family without sacrificing access to weekend getaway areas.
