Sr. Process Engineer, Advanced Composites
Our client is one of the fastest growing engineered material manufacturers in the world. They have a broad and diverse portfolio of engineered polymers and resins sold into nearly every industry imaginable. This division manufactures out of autoclave thermoset composite components for a wide variety of industries including wind energy, transportation, heavy truck, automotive and other industrial applications. The company runs a full new product development cycle on most of their new programs, so they are a high-value, custom engineered solution provider to the industry. The Sr. Process Engineer will work on a small team and lead new process development efforts for new products and programs. This person will create and implement the process mapping, tooling, material specifications, management and all process mapping/documentation for all new products in the facility. In addition, the Sr. Process Engineer will support all new and existing workflows for continuous improvements. They will also be accountable to projects, mentoring and coaching less experienced engineers and generally acting as the "go-to" manufacturing engineering resource on the floor.
In order to qualify for this role, you must have a 4-Year Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and at least 5 years of hands-on process engineering experience with out-of-autoclave composite parts. This could include, closed molding, RTM, compression molding, pultrusion or other continuous processes using thermoset resin systems. You must also have solid communication, technical writing and team-oriented skills. This role reports to the Engineering Manager and will be accountable for coaching, mentoring and developing other, less experienced engineers on the floor. You must also be able to qualify for ITAR projects which restricts this role to US Residents and Citizens.
