Regional Sales Manager, Upper Midwest, Composite Materials

This role offers a work from home, “run your own business” environment, allowing the Sales Manager to be directly accountable for budgeting, sales forecasting, execution of the sales plan and managing both direct and distribution sales in the broad territory.  The role reports to the Director of Sales based in the US.  The compensation offer is a market-competitive salary + quarterly commissions + an additional annual bonus program.  In addition, the company pays 100% of the employee health and dental insurance premiums and all travel expenses. 

Position Description

The Regional Sales Manager will be an individual contributor responsible for both “hunting” new potential clients and applications as well as maintaining and strengthening current client relationships.  The Regional Sales Manager will be accountable for delivering new leads in the industry, introducing, demonstrating and promoting products into the key market segments mentioned above.  They will be responsible for evaluating potential new sales targets and growing the territory, actively working with both distributors and direct clients to determine the right material specifications and applications for the intended materials.  This role will actively participate in annual budgeting for the territory, forecasting and reporting monthly sales against forecasts.   

This territory is focused on a 12-state region + south-central Canada stretching from the Dakotas as far east as Ohio.  This will be an active travel role with the travel primarily within the upper mid-west US region + trade shows and distributors; realistic estimate is about 50% overnight travel. 

Requirements for Consideration:

In order to qualify for this role, you must have a 4-Year Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other Technical degree.  You must also have at least 3 years of hands-on sales experience in composite materials, which may include resins, adhesives, fabrics, fibers, pre-pregs, cores, etc…    The personality type that will be most successful is a self-motivated and self-sufficient business development person that is great at building strong relationships and has a demonstrated track record of territory product growth in the area

The Location:

This role works from a home office and will travel 50% of the time.  A home base in or around the Upper Midwest and would be ideal with easy access to an international airport.
