Vice President of North American Business Development, Composite Materials
CEO Inc’s Advanced Composite Group is actively looking for VP of Business Development and Sales for North America. The company is a Global organization and has seen impressive year over year growth the last 5+ years. They are interested in continuing to drive new business development efforts into new markets and industries throughout the next several years. The company manufactures and delivers unique composite materials for use in the manufacture of parts and components in the transportation, wind energy, oil/gas, marine and other industrial uses. The VP of Business Development and Sales will be an individual contributor responsible for driving new market growth, strategically managing a team and running a full P/L for North American Sales. The company itself is undergoing a great deal of re-organization and re-positioning in the industry; creating a unique opportunity to be a key senior-level catalyst for the changes. The company offers a stable financial history, strong growth track record over the last 5 years and a global vision to be a top provider of materials in the growing composite industry.
The Vice President of Business Development and Sales will be primarily accountable for managing the full slate of New Business Development, Marketing and Product/Market Development while strategically managing the North American sales and technical service group. This role will create and manage short and long-term strategies and forecasts relatively autonomously providing new market and product development growth and support. This role will have a number of experienced direct reports in sales and technical support reporting to them and will be responsible for both direct and distribution channel account management, new business and support. The VP of Business Development will have the authority and autonomy to recommend and implement changes as needed to best align the group with corporate and division goals.
This role will be an active travel role and can be a work from home role since the travel will be primarily domestic air, overnight travel; with some occasional international travel. The travel is primarily within the North American market to clients, trade shows, manufacturing facilities and distributors and is estimated at about 50-65%.
This role will offer salary, plus a bonus and other incentives that ensure market level compensation.
In order to qualify for this role, you must have a 4-Year Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related degree; a technical degree is appreciated, but not required. You must also have at least 10 years of hands-on sales leadership experience in composite materials, which may include resins, adhesives, fabrics, fibers, pre-pregs, cores, et al. Recent experience in active business development management with global or national responsibilities is also a key requirement. The personality type that will be most successful is a self-motivated and self-sufficient business development person that is great at building strong internal and external relationships with a demonstrated track record of year over year growth in both EBITA and margins.
This role works from a home office and will travel a minimum of 50% of the time.
