Third Shift Injection Molding Supervisor
Location: Maple Grove, MN
Schedule: 10:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
Compensation: $90k/yr
A plastics manufacturer in Maple Grove is hiring a Third Shift Injection Molding Supervisor to lead a team of up to 40 employees. This person will oversee night shift production, support injection molding processes, and troubleshoot issues on the floor.
What you’ll do
- Supervise, train, and set priorities for up to 40 employees while maintaining production, quality, and safety standards.
- Support mold changes, machine startups, and process adjustments.
- Troubleshoot molding defects, machine alarms, and production interruptions. Identify the cause, make appropriate adjustments, and document the resolution.
- Monitor cycle times, scrap, and part quality, and respond when a process moves outside its established settings.
- Work with maintenance and quality teams on equipment issues, recurring defects, and corrective actions.
- Communicate production status and unresolved issues to the incoming shift.
What we’re looking for
- Experience supervising a sizable team in a plastic injection molding operation.
- Direct injection molding processing experience, including setting or adjusting process parameters and troubleshooting part defects.
- Ability to diagnose issues such as short shots, flash, sink, warpage, burns, and inconsistent part quality.
- Familiarity with molds, dryers, material handling equipment, and other equipment used in injection molding production.
- Ability to make sound decisions about production, part quality, and employee safety during the night shift.
- Availability to work onsite in Maple Grove from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
