We’re Hiring : Maintenance Planner/Scheduler

Position Summary

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Maintenance Planner/Scheduler to support maintenance operations and improve equipment reliability within a manufacturing environment. This role will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance work orders while ensuring efficient resource utilization, minimal production downtime, and adherence to preventive maintenance schedules.

The ideal candidate will have experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), maintenance planning, and reliability metrics, along with the ability to collaborate across Production, Quality, Engineering, and Sanitation teams. Experience with Fiix CMMS and familiarity with GMP, SQF, and food safety standards are highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, plan, and schedule maintenance work orders to ensure timely completion of preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities.

• Coordinate maintenance schedules with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Sanitation to minimize operational disruptions and equipment downtime.

• Maintain accurate asset records, maintenance histories, preventive maintenance schedules, and work order documentation within Fiix CMMS.

• Monitor and manage maintenance costs, work order performance, and maintenance-related reporting to support operational efficiency.

• Track, analyze, and report key maintenance performance indicators (KPIs), including PM compliance, Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), Mean Time to Repair (MTTR), equipment downtime, and maintenance backlog.

• Support inventory management and spare parts planning to ensure the availability of critical components and maintenance materials.

• Identify opportunities to improve maintenance planning, scheduling efficiency, equipment reliability, and overall maintenance performance.

• Collaborate with maintenance technicians and department leaders to prioritize work orders, allocate resources, and improve execution.

• Support continuous improvement, cost reduction, and equipment reliability initiatives.

• Ensure maintenance planning and scheduling activities comply with applicable safety regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), SQF requirements, and food safety standards.

• Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and support audits, inspections, and compliance-related activities.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience in maintenance planning, maintenance scheduling, reliability, or a related role within a manufacturing environment.

• Experience developing, prioritizing, and coordinating maintenance work orders.

• Familiarity with CMMS platforms, preferably Fiix CMMS.

• Understanding of preventive maintenance programs, equipment reliability, and maintenance best practices.

• Experience tracking and analyzing maintenance KPIs, including PM compliance, MTBF, MTTR, downtime, and backlog.

• Knowledge of maintenance inventory management, spare parts planning, and cost control.

• Ability to coordinate maintenance activities across multiple departments and competing operational priorities.

• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

• Ability to maintain accurate records and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in food, beverage, or other regulated manufacturing environments.

• Familiarity with GMP, SQF, food safety, and workplace safety requirements.

• Experience supporting equipment reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Knowledge of maintenance resource planning, labor scheduling, and spare parts optimization.

• Experience using maintenance data and KPI reporting to identify trends and drive operational improvements.
